MELBOURNE, Australia (Top40 Charts/ ELEVEN MUSIC) - Tunesmith Five Times August has been tapped to join NYC troubadour Matt White on his upcoming U.S. tour this March. Five Times August will perform solo acoustic sets of music from his highly anticipated new album 'Brighter Side', which he self-releases on March 18.
Brad Skistimas, the musician behind Five Times August, might just be one of the hardest working men in show business. His hometown paper The Dallas Morning News noted that his combination of "shrewd music-business sense, incessant work, a savvy circle of friends, and sheer luck" have resulted in Five Times August's "burgeoning national emergence." In addition to writing all of the music for Five Times August, he books his own tours, maintains five different websites, designs his own merchandise, and responds to all fan mail, usually in the wee hours of the morning after a show.
Buzz is building for the new disc. Recently Skistimas was featured on the Fox Business Network alongside Billboard's Jonathan Cohen discussing how he's succeeded without a label in this age of digital media. And two songs from 'Brighter Side'- "Sentimental Spell" and "It's Not Over"- were featured prominently in the season finale of MTV's 'The Real World' in January.
Five Times August continues to tour solo through February, with additional full-band dates for later in the year already in the works.
