The clever lads behind Young Knives, the critically acclaimed trio from Ashby De La Zouche, England, are at it again! Nominated for the 2007 Mercury Prize, Young Knives have wowed audiences on both sides of the Atlantic, and are set to release "Superabundance" on April 22, 2008. A North American tour will follow in late spring, with dates to be announced soon.

It's been quite a spell for this most distinctive trio of respectably dressed men. An inimitably tight trio, comprised of brothers Henry and Thomas 'House Of Lords' Dartnall, and school-friend Oliver Askew, Young Knives have delivered an album that listeners will find irresistibly addictive.

Constantly evolving and always appealing, Young Knives' "Superabundance" is the sequel to their feverishly popular first U.S. release, "Voices of Animals and Men." A band destined to redefine genres, better lives, and touch its listeners, their new release represents a natural progression for the Knives, who effortlessly weave their trademark catchy melodies with their quick-witted lyrics.
For the recording of "Superabundance," Henry built a writing studio in his farmhouse. After, they emigrated to Scotland to record in a space dubbed the Castle of Doom, where they emerged with an astounding set of new songs with producer Tony Doogan (Belle & Sebastian, Mogwai, Super Furry Animals, Dirty Pretty Things).

Henry reflects, "Castle of Doom... it was more of a relaxing place... We've not spent hours editing down tracks; we've gone off and thought about the songs, and had space when we needed it from each other. It's been more about performance and nailing the songs, rather than messing around with things we've already done... That's what Tony has brought to it."

Being able to quietly write and craft a classic, second album is a rare practice - especially when sandwiched between a relentless touring schedule that takes in all the major festivals and some rather high-profile promotional activity - and doubly so in such a quick timespan, but - somehow - the threesome have achieved it.
