About Anton Sword:
-Sword writes songs for the piano.
-He came of age among contemporaries such as Jeff Buckley, D Generation and Jesse Malin, playing Fender Rhodes for the psychedelic folk act and underground cult favorite, Glim.
-After Glim broke up in the later nineties, Sword formed JC & Anphibius with scenester-singer JC, whose spare, minimalistic chamber-pop reminded some of Nick Cave crossed with Burt Bacharach.
-Sword lived in Berlin for a time before his recent return to NYC.
-It was in Berlin that he began final work on what has yielded 'A Sentimental Education.'
-'A Sentimental Education 'is a song cycle that explores the different forms of lost illusion and imprisoning fantasy within the quintessential electronic lounge pop format.
-His songs recall the economy of the Brill Building writers, the ambience of jazz piano trios, and even the dark edge of the Velvet Underground.
