(Top40 Charts/ Glassnote Records) - Burgeoning Canadian star Justin Nozuka will bring his 'superior acoustic soul' (Q) to NYC tastemaking station WFUV this Thursday, March 6 for a special live performance at Noon ET. Nozuka will be performing songs off his US debut 'Holly,' out April 15 on Glassnote Records/RED Distribution. The 19-year-old New York-born, Toronto-raised songwriter will also be down at SXSW, with multiple performances and a taping for DIRECTV'S 'SXSW Live' (others taping performances include X, Daniel Lanois, Sia, Tift Merritt, Dizzee Rascal, Nicole Atkins and Martha Wainright) Tune into the WFUV performance on 90.7 FM in NYC. Nozuka can also be seen at SXSW on Thursday, March 13th at the Glassnote Records/Coalition Management showcase at noon at the CIRPA suite, and his official showcase, Thursday night at 12:30am at the Velveeta Room. Recently nominated for a Best New Artist Juno (Canadian Grammy), Nozuka is a songwriter with a gifted melodic sensibility and rare lyrical depth. Album opener 'Down In A Cold Dirty Well' is a perfect summation of what makes Nozuka special, a tale of depression wrapped in an instantly memorable, infectious chorus,. He easily moves from 'Save Him,' a vivid story about an abusive relationship, to 'After Tonight' (the first single), a rapturous ode to a night of love.
