BURBANK, CA. (Top40 Charts/ Warner Bros. Records) - After raising hell across North
America headlining the Fourth Annual Rockstar Taste of
Chaos since February, Huntington Beach hard-rock heroes
Avenged Sevenfold are ready to bring their explosive show to the hometown crowd in Southern California when they play the Long Beach
Arena next Thursday, April 10th.
To reward their army of devoted fans, the band has announced that it will record the entire show for a live DVD that Warner Bros. Records will release later this year. The DVD will be directed by Core Entertainment's Rafa Alcantra, who also worked on the band's riotous 2007 road documentary "All Excess." The DVD package will also include a CD of seven previously unreleased B-sides that were recorded during the making of the band's current self-produced album "Avenged Sevenfold." "We're coming with a video show, even more pyro and other surprises for our hometown crowd," says singer M. Shadows. "What better place to shoot a DVD than where it all began?"
Footage from the Long Beach Arena show, as well as from previous shows, will be used in the upcoming music video for "Dear God," the third single from the band's current album. The first single, "Almost Easy," was a Top 10 hit at Active Rock, went Top 20 at Alternative, and was the Number One Most Played Video on Fuse. The video will also include fans of the faithful street team "The Fallen" that will be hand chosen by the band.
The follow-up to the 2005 million-selling "City of Evil," Avenged Sevenfold topped the Billboard Alternative, Hard, and Rock charts the week after its release on October 30th, 2007.
It also debuted at Number Four on the Billboard Top 200, marking the biggest sales week ever for the quintet.
Critics have praised the album with Revolver declaring it a "magnum opus" and "the work of five extremely talented and deeply industrious musicians," while Entertainment Weekly declares Avenged Sevenfold's "musicianship is unimpeachable."
