NEW YORK (Metallica Fans Website) - Metallica are currently working on as many as thirty new songs for their as yet untitled, forthcoming new studio album.

Drummer Lars Ulrich revealed last week during a surprise appearance on the Metallica fansite Metclub.com that the new record may actually contain as many as twenty new tracks. Yet the vast majority of the material the band have demoed to date may actually be ditched as the band are currently working on "round two of the keepers".
This is a strange turn up for the books as Metallica have made a point of releasing everything they have ever written and recorded over their career thus far.
