NEW YORK (Top40 Charts/ Nacional Records) - Manu Chao's latest release 'La Radiolina' won a Billboard Latin Music Award last night in the Best Rock/Alternative Album category. This exciting news comes on the heels of his first career Latin Grammy win for the hit track, "Me Llaman Calle." The wins follow a highly-successful year which featured the global star selling out large venues across the world and year-end critical acclaim across most major media outlets including Time Magazine, Spin Magazine, The New Yorker, and the Los Angeles Times. Manu Chao will be releasing a 'Politik Kills' remix EP this spring, proving especially relevant during this highly-contested presidential primary election season. The EP will hit digital outlets on April 22nd and at stores in CD and vinyl format on June 3rd. The album features a reggae remix collection of the 'La Radiolina' track by artists like UK icons Linton Kwesi Johnson and Dennis Bovell as well as Island Records founder Chris Blackwell and several others. Fans can visit the new website, www.PolitiKills.com, to preview tracks from the remix EP and watch the new "Politik Kills" music video. The site also features online-exclusive remixes from Bostich + Fussible of Nortec Collective. Fans and DJs can also access PolitiKills.com to download the different parts of the song and create their own remix. Finally, the site includes commentary from social leaders, writers, artists and more; all in the name of reflecting on the misuse and abuse of power plaguing the world. Manu Chao will be performing several high-profile U.S. tour dates in late August. Exact touring details will be announced in the coming weeks. In other Manu Chao touring news, he will be performing across his native France this spring for the first time in seven years.
