NEW YORK, NY. (Top40 Charts/ Columbia Records) - Fresh from the group's triumphant performances at this year's South by Southwest Music Conference, the mind-bending futurist rock/pop ensemble MGMT will head out on a series of select North American club dates (please see full itinerary following) in advance of three prestigious engagements: Saturday, April 26 at this year's Coachella in Indio, California; Thursday, June 12, at Bonnaroo Music & Arts Festival in Manchester, Tennessee; and Saturday, August 2, at Lollapalooza in Chicago, IL. MGMT will embark on an extensive tour of the UK and Europe during the span between Coachella and Bonnaroo. MGMT are also set to open for Radiohead in Manchester on June 29, immediately after playing the legendary Glastonbury Festival on June 27 and 28.

Midway between the band's major festival performances, MGMT is slated to appear on NBC's "Late Night with Conan O'Brien" on Thursday, May 15 and will perform on CBS's "Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson" on Monday, June 9, 2008.

Pegged as one of Rolling Stone's "Top 10 Artists To Watch" in 2008, MGMT is proving especially popular with fans and critics in the UK where Oracular Spectacular, MGMT's debut album, entered the UK Albums Chart at No 12 while the band came in at No 9 in the BBC's Sound of 2008 Top 10 poll. Oracular Spectacular debuted at No 5 on the Album Charts in the Ireland as well.

After The Sunday Times sent music writer Dan Cairns to Austin, Texas to cover the SxSW Festival for the paper's Culture section, the reporter raved in response, "Current buzz bands came trailing high expectations, among them MGMT, who lived up to the hype ... MGMT's show on Thursday night was my SxSW highlight: it's a long time since I have been at a gig that has so transported and unified an audience."

The NME's chronicle of SxSW events encapsulated MGMT's appearance: "In what was one of the hottest tickets in Austin tonight (March 14), MGMT performed an impressively tight set, complete with an awesome light show. The band's David Bowie-meets-Pink Floyd performance saw hundreds of festival-goers left out of Stubb's BBQ as the venue reached capacity shortly before they took to the stage."

The band's recently launched website, https://www.whoismgmt.com, offers an innovative interactive exploration of the MGMT aesthetic and experience including an MGmtSRCH function and a 3-D version of the "Time To Pretend" music video.

MGMT has received more than 1.8 million views on the group's Myspace page (https://www.myspace.com/mgmt) where the band's track have received more than 1.6 million plays.

The ever-evolving MGMT has been taking America's theaters and clublands by storm in its current incarnation as a five-piece live concert ensemble with live shows showcasing songs from Oracular Spectacular, the group's major label debut and first full-length sonic manifesto, available now.

MGMT is being lauded THE band to look out for in 2008 by publications ranging from Rolling Stone and Spin in the states to the UK's NME who recently called MGMT "The Best New York Band About" as well as "one of the most feted bands on earth right now."
