NEW YORK, NY. (Top40 Charts/ Atlantic Records) - Atlantic recording group Death Cab For Cutie has released the much-awaited new video for "I Will Possess Your Heart," the first single from their upcoming album "NARROW STAIRS" (see below for video links). Death Cab For Cutie once again push the envelope creatively and visually, enlisting long time friend and collaborator Aaron Stuart-Ahn as well as acclaimed cinematographer/videographer Shawn Kim to shoot this amazing companion piece.

Stewart-Ahn and the female protagonist traveled the world, filming in ten different locations - London, Paris, Frankfurt, Carthage and Tunis in Tunisia, Bangkok, Phnom Penh and Siem Reap in Cambodia, Tokyo and Hokkaido in Japan, and NYC. For the performance footage, Shawn Kim spent a day shooting the band in a food storage facility in Los Angeles where the temperature never rose above 12 degrees.

There are both album and single versions of the "I Will Possess Your Heart" video. The album version, which is eight minutes long, premiered on April 11th on MTV.com and VH1.com. The shorter, single-length version premiered on April 12th on MTV2. The video was immediately added to MTV, MTV2, VH1, and Fuse in its first week.

"NARROW STAIRS" is the follow-up to Death Cab's Grammy-nominated, RIAA platinum-certified 2005 release, "PLANS." "NARROW STAIRS," which was produced and mixed by the band's very own Chris Walla, will arrive in stores and at all online retailers on May 13th.

The album is already receiving great reviews, with MTV.com raving, "Unquestionably the best thing they've ever done... and an early contender for the best album of 2008." Paste Magazine hails, "Gibbard is at his best when he tethers his catchy tunes to lyrics grounded in specifics - a creek beneath a Big Sur bridge, the receiving line at a wedding, a closet full of clothes that 'hang like ghosts of people I've been.'"

The band kicks off their 2008 tour this Friday, April 18th in their home state of Washington with a show at the Admiral Theatre in Bremerton. Last week Death Cab was part of a very special event in Seattle, where they had the honor of performing an acoustic set as part of Seeds of Compassion, a five-day gathering in honor of his Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama. In addition, Death Cab has recently confirmed many more tour dates throughout the U.S. and Canada. (See below for a full listing of tour dates)
