LOS ANGELES (Top40 Charts/ Opiate For The Masses Official Website) - OPIATE FOR THE MASSES have posted the new track "21st Century Time Bomb" on their MySpace page www.myspace.com/opiateforthemasses. This powerful, anthemic call to arms is the lead-off track on the group's much anticipated new album, Manifesto, which is set for a July 8th release.

Upon speaking about the song's origin, Ron Underwood (vocals) states: "21st Century Time Bomb was one of the first songs that Jim and I worked on for Manifesto. The title is actually a direct quote from a Metal Edge article- they called Opiate 'A 21st Century Time Bomb' in a review. So we took that and ran with it; used it as a template for the song itself. The music had to be mechanical and militant, but brash like a guillotine- the soundtrack of a revolutionary uprising. The lyrics had to be the voice of the underdog lit to pop in the face of oppression. Who can't relate to that? Also to stay on course with the theme, we recorded the song at 120 beats per minute so that the back beat synchronizes with the second hand of a clock (for the time bomb effect) and it happens to be a good, fast marching tempo. I think it's the perfect opener for ou! r new album Manifesto."

The first single "Burn You Down" will begin impacting Active Rock radio stations later this month as the band kick off their tour with Filter beginning on May 20th in Atlanta, Georgia. The band, along with acclaimed director David Brodsky (GWAR, Helmet) recently wrapped up shooting the video for "Burn You Down" in Los Angeles. Fans can look forward to a 30 second trailer for the video which will be finding its way on the bands MySpace page in the coming weeks.

Manifesto was recorded by two Grammy-nominated, multi-platinum producers: Ulrich Wild (Slipknot, Deftones) and John Travis (Kid Rock, Buckcherry) and will be released through Century Media Records on July 8th. The new offering is a propulsive mix of sheer hard rock aggression, soaring melodies and electronic experimentation that could be best described as Alice In Chains meets Nine Inch Nails.

The group's talents and determination are also well respected by their peers as Chester Bennington (Linkin Park) who states: "OPIATE FOR THE MASSES...I think they're going to be big." Synyster Gates (Avenged Sevenfold) agrees: "This is the band to look out for in 2008. They are a great rock band with an edge, and certainly a must see live. They will f*ck you up." Joey Jordison (Slipknot) further comments: "OPIATE FOR THE MASSES is nothing short of hypnotic. Tracks such as '21st Century Time Bomb,' and the somber lull of 'The Habit,' make this new album a must have for fans of industrial, goth, metal and new wave."
