New York, NY. (Top40 Charts/ Blue Bird Records) - Annie Dinerman, a 2006 Songwriters Hall of Fame award-winner, will sing in the popular Hurdy Gurdy Concert Series on Saturday, June 7, 2008 in Fair Lawn, New Jersey. Dinerman will open for Wendy Waldman's new, acoustic-electric songwriter band, The Refugees. The Hurdy Gurdy Concert Series, a longstanding favorite with New York and New Jersey fans, is produced by Ron Olesko, a Folk Radio Host of the Traditions Program (Sundays, 3:00PM to 6:00PM E.S.T.) since 1980 at WFDU-FM Radio (89.1 in Teaneck, NJ).

Danny Bakan, who was originally scheduled to open this program, has postponed due to a schedule conflict. This is the second time Dinerman has stepped in for Bakan, who is an established Canadian roots artist. In November, 2007, Danny Bakan was nominated by Folk DJ Bill Jumper (WJFF, Jeffersonville, NY) for the DJ Invitational Showcase at the NERFA Conference (Northeast Regional Folk Alliance) in Monticello, NY. However, artists are only permitted to participate one time in that showcase, so Danny Bakan, who had done so a few years before, was replaced by Annie Dinerman. On June 7th, Dinerman will again take over Bakan's performance slot.

New York-based singer/songwriter Annie Dinerman's lyrics reveal a frank, funny and very female point of view. Women in her audience identify, and men want to be the man she writes about. Annie's live performances amplify the wry, feminine humor of her lyrics, and her voice is laden with accessible and appealing emotion. She walks in the footsteps of storytelling artists like Paul Simon and Wendy Waldman. Annie's singing voice will remind you of a young Carole King, but her warm, witty and womanly writer's voice is distinctly Dinerman.

In June of 2006, Annie Dinerman received the Abe Olman Award from Songwriters Hall of Fame, and made her debut at the Kerrville Folk Festival as a songwriting contest finalist. Annie's recent performances also include the Dance Flurry Festival and her debut at the prestigious and historic Caffe Lena (Saratoga Springs, NY); Thataway Cafe (Greenwich, CT); and New York City at Sidewalk Cafe, The American Folk Art Museum, and The Bitter End.

Annie Dinerman is recording her second independent CD with noted producer Steve Addabbo (Shawn Colvin, Susanne Vega, Sonya Kitchell). Nine songs are 'in the can' and the final three will be recorded in June 2008. Release is scheduled for late Summer or early Fall. Since all the songs have been written during the recording process, Dinerman's fans can look forward to more emotional lyrics from the award-winning songwriter, plus edgier, more immediate singing, and stories about what she's living through right now. In May of 2007, Ms. Dinerman received a grant from the Anna Sosenko Assist Trust for recording expenses for this CD, originally planned as a 4 song EP, but now expanded to 12 songs. Her desire is to become known as the songwriter who sparked a new era of well-crafted lyrics.

She was taught the value of craftsmanship at an early age by her first-generation American parents, who grew up working with their hands-her mother in her family's tailor shop, her father in his father's wholesale poultry business. Annie first found a large and loyal following for her original songs in Southwest Ohio coffeehouses. The only native Ohioan in a family of transplanted New Yorkers, she heard the artist's call and moved to New York to concentrate on songwriting.

There are over 30 covers of Annie Dinerman's songs, including 'Child In Me Again', recorded by Kathie Gifford on her 'Born For You' CD (2000). The CD hit three Billboard charts: No 1 on Heatseekers, No 6 on Top Contemporary Christian, and No 139 on Top 200.
