New York, NY. (Top40 Charts/ Shore Fire Media) - In an exclusive performance at LA's Hotel Cafe on June 4th, Sonya Kitchell will be debuting material from her upcoming release 'This Storm' (This fall on Decca/Velour).

'This Storm' is Sonya's follow up to her acclaimed inaugural album 'Words Came Back to Me,' which was released in 2006 when the singer/songwriter/guitarist was just 16. 'Words' ended up selling over 100,000 records and led the artist to major national and international exposure that included appearances on Late Night with David Letterman and NPR's 'All Things Considered.'
For 'Words,' People Magazine cheered: "With a knockout voice that alternately evokes the smokiness of Norah Jones, the soulfulness of Joss Stone and the ethereal sweetness of Sarah McLachlan, Kitchell is destined for great things." And The Washington Post raved: "Her dusky voice projects an old-soul quality... It's not just Kitchell's vocals, however, that make the performances on 'Words' worth repeating. It's the quality of the song craft, too."

Kitchell lent her vocals to the Joni Mitchell penned "All I Want" for Herbie Hancock's Grammy-winning album 'The Joni Letters' and will spend the duration of the summer of 2008 on the road singing with the jazz legend making stops at places like Carnegie Hall and the Newport Jazz Festival in Rhode Island.
