Nashville, TN. (Top40 Charts/
Jessica Urick Official Website) - With the 2008 CMA
Music Festival having just wrapped, JESSICA CAYNE URICK is already looking forward to next year! This year's event was her most involved yet, and
Jessica has come quite a ways from her first year participating in the annual festival! 'The first year, I literally went with some pictures and a few CDs, tromped up and down the streets handing out my merchandise. The second year, I was fortunate enough to be asked to sign autographs in the Gibson Booth where I was joined by the Mulch Brothers, an insanely talented songwriting/performing duo.'
This year, Jessica spent time in the truTV Fan Fair Hall (inside the Nashville Convention Center) meeting fans and signing autographs at the Assets, Mary Kay Cosmetics, Silpada Designs, Tetley Iced Tea, and VAULT booths. Silpada Designs hooked Jessica up with several pieces of their jewelry, which Jessica happily modeled for booth exhibitors and fans! The long hours coupled with the humid outdoor weather didn't deter Jessica from experiencing each day of the festival to its fullest. Her beaming face captured the blur of excitement she soaked in all week long, and it was clear that she was enjoying herself as much as the fans enjoyed meeting her. 'This year's Fan Fair was the best... BAR NONE! I owe that to Estella with STAR Country Media, and, of course, to the fans! Estella allowed me to meet more fans than ever before. I have said it before and will say it again - COUNTRY MUSIC FANS ARE THE BEST! They are the most supportive, the most respectful, the most enthusiastic, and generally the warmest, and welcoming people you will ever come across.'
The feeling was mutual as fans, media, and fellow artists all adored the bubbly blonde who greeted everyone she met with the brightest smile this side of Tennessee ! In the artist green room, Jessica swapped stories with Stephen Cochran, and also received music business advice from Aaron Tippin and Billy Gilman!
In addition to booth signings and interviews, Jessica kicked off her Thursday with a couple shows! During her late afternoon set at FUEL, she indulged fans with a 30-minute set that included her new single, 'Pour Some Whiskey On It,' 'What Kinda Trouble,' 'Cowboy,' 'Country Fried Princess,' 'Absence of Truth,' and 'Punch Drunk Love.' But, it was Jessica's version of Randy Travis' signature song, 'Forever and Ever, Amen' - sung with a prominent Bob Marley influence! - that really reeled the fans in. Later that evening, The Mulch Brothers invited Jessica to sit in with them at the Blue Bar Rack Room, as part of the Sowing Circle Thursdays weekly gathering. She and two of her band members, Jeff Taylor and Case Brennan, performed "Punch Drunk Love" and "Pour Some Whiskey On It."
Jessica reminisces about the week, 'My favorite memories are definitely getting to hang out with my buddies the Mulch Brothers and Estella, and getting to be around all of the incredible fans. The fans are what make CMA Fan Festival what it is!' She continues, 'The entire experience further solidified my absolute love of country music fans everywhere. Every person, be it a fan or someone working the booths, was so sweet and so willing to accommodate and always had a handful of kind words. I have too many wonderful memories to count... Fan Fair is just the best!' Already looking ahead, Jessica promises, 'I will be waiting with baited breath for next year, and hopefully you'll see me in my VERY OWN BOOTH!!'
