Phoenix, AZ. (Top40 Charts/ Blameshift Official Website) - During this time of our suffering economy and escalading gas prices, people seem to be taking every opportunity to avoid the inevitable extra dent in their budgets. Even most bands are finding it more economical to hold off on touring, afraid of not being able to scrape together enough pennies to make it to the next city - most bands, except Blameshift.
Originally from New York, and having already completed three mid-west/east coast tours, months prior to their first full-length album, 'The Test' (May 2007), Blameshift decided that cutting shows would not be their way of cutting costs. Currently on their 26-state US summer tour, these alternative rockers fuel their wheels with vegetable oil, which not only benefits the environment, but their wallets as well.
'DIY to the core! Blameshift, who appeared in issue No. 229, have booked and promoted their own U.S. tours, establishing an impressive dedicated fan base along the way,' says Alternative Press Magazine, who named them 'Unsigned Band of the Month' in July 2007.
Having shared the stage with Bullet for my Valentine, Senses Fail, Paramore, among many others, they are scheduled for 6 dates on the 2008 Vans Warped Tour. Their next performance takes place July 4 in Phoenix, Arizona, at The Static House, with all-girl independent band, ShiraGirl.
Through their hard work and dedication to their music, Blameshift proves the possibility of success in the music industry as an unsigned, self-promoted band - even on a budget.
