New York, NY. (Top40 Charts/ Shore Fire Media) - With an indelible voice and gift for songwriting that transmits a depth beyond his twenty-six years, Cory Chisel and his seven-piece band The Wandering Sons already fill 2500+ seat concert halls in their native Wisconsin. Now they're set to make a national impression with Chisel's new live EP 'Cabin Ghosts' on the newly formed imprint Black Seal, and an extensive summer tour with Joshua James. Chisel will continue to tour into the fall, and Black Seal will release his next full-length album in early 2009.

Four of the six songs on 'Cabin Ghosts' were recorded live in a defunct, old bar - "A place I would never have gone to when it was open," says Chisel - in his hometown of Appleton, WI. After spending months crafting studio versions of these songs, Chisel's decision to instead record them live was a bold - and brilliant - move. 'Cabin Ghosts' captures a magic moment when a songwriter of great promise creates his first essential work. A deep, roiling mixture of American sounds - rock and soul, gospel and folk, and more - the songs and performances on 'Cabin Ghosts' feel evanescent yet unforgettable, timeless yet completely in the moment.

Just as he intended. The son of a Baptist minister, Chisel has performed from an early age and knows how to draw in an audience. He explains, "I wanted to raise the stakes a bit, and capture that one-shot energy of playing live. All my friends were there, and that helped too. I knew I had to deliver for them."

The 'Cabin Ghosts' performance was also filmed, so fans can literally see the EP as it was being made. View all the live performances from 'Cabin Ghosts' at the YouTube links below:

The EP is rounded out by a demo Chisel recorded in a cabin belonging to his family in Elcho, WI (one of several "cabins," real and conjured, that the EP title refers to) and one studio cut produced by Tony Berg (Aimee Mann, Peter Gabriel, Jesca Hoop).

'Cabin Ghosts' follows Chisel's self-released 2007 album 'Little Bird,' a collection that featured Rick Nielsen and Bun E. Carlos of Cheap Trick, and acclaimed multi-instrumentalist Augie Meyers (Sir Douglas Quintet, Bob Dylan), and prompted extensive touring and shared bills with Jackson Browne, Erykah Badu, Brett Dennen and others.
