Beijing, China (Top40 Charts/ SIRIS Official Website) - Just in time for the Beijing Olympics, the American rock group SIRIS announces the release of its brand new "double" Chinese- and English-language album, "8".

SIRIS continues a tradition of building a cultural bridge between East and West that has lasted over 10 years. The band's 2008 offering is its fifth studio album and the first full-length "double" Chinese- and English-language album ever released. The album will be distributed in mainland China by Run Hard Music and will be made available for free on the band's official Chinese Web site, sirismusic.cn.

The group, formed by brothers Michael and Patrick Maley, was the first Western act to release an original Chinese-language album with its 1997 debut, "Till My Last Breath" (Zhi Dao Wo Zui Hou Yi Xi). In 2005, SIRIS shot to fame with its Mandarin hit single "Xing Fu" (Happiness). Since its release, "Xing Fu" has sold over 500,000 copies and been downloaded over 25 million times.

The new album contains an eclectic mix of 20 original Chinese and English songs. Prominent singles featured in the new release are "God Bless Sichuan", "I Was Chinese in My Previous Life", and "China". The Mandarin single "God Bless Sichuan" was pre-released on July 1 as a tribute to the survivors of the tragic Sichuan earthquake on May 12, 2008. The song features a renowned mainland Chinese erhu soloist, Qin Qian. Since its July release, "God Bless Sichuan" has become the No. 1-played song on mainland China's most popular video-sharing Web site, Youku.com, surpassing 1.5 million plays.

In November 2008, SIRIS will embark on an extensive tour of Asia and North America in support of the new release. All proceeds from physical album sales and portions of tour revenue will go to Sichuan earthquake disaster relief.
