New York, NY. (Top40 Charts/ Shore Fire Media) - Kate McGarry will play material from her latest CD 'If Less Is More...Nothing Is Everything' (praised as "an exceptionally appealing blend of folk and jazz" by the Wall Street Journal) as part of the Tribeca Caberet Series at the Tribeca Performing Arts Center on October 17th and 18th. McGarry will perform with her band featuring Keith Ganz (guitar), Gary Versace (organ, piano, accordion), Sean Smith (bass) and Alvester Garnett (drums).

McGarry is regarded as one of the most diverse talents in modern jazz and she dazzles with stunning renditions of jazz standards and contemporary pop and folk songs. She was named a Rising Star Jazz Vocalist in this year's prestigious Downbeat Critics Poll and her 2007 release 'The Target' reached No 1 on the Nationwide Jazz Charts, and was named one of the best jazz vocal CDs by both Downbeat and the New York Times.

McGarry is also a member of the all-star jazz vocal quintet MOSS, featuring downtown singer and composer Theo Bleckmann, Brazilian jazz singer Luciana Souza and New York Voices' Peter Eldridge and Lauren Kinhan. MOSS will be performing at NY's Jazz Standard October 22nd and 23rd.

'If Less Is More...Nothing Is Everything' is the third in a series of superb recent recordings by Ms. McGarry...an exceptionally appealing blend of folk and jazz." Martin Johnson, Wall Street Journal

"Spin McGarry's hushed amble through the Cars' "Just What I Needed" to see how high the bar can be set." Jim MacNie, Village Voice

"McGarry's sense of musical authenticity is beautifully blended with her always-original musical vision." Don Heckman, The Los Angeles Times

"There's no greater influence on the young generation of post-Joni female jazz singer-songwriters than Kate McGarry." Jon Garelick, Boston Phoenix
