Nashville, TN. (Top40 Charts/ Mercury Nashville) -
Billy Currington is feeling a
Little Bit Of
Everything these days - he's watching his single 'Don't' race up the country radio chart and enjoying the rave reviews that are quickly mounting up for his third studio album. Fans have also embraced the new album as it makes its debut at No 2 overall on the country album chart behind Kenny Chesney's latest release.
People Magazine says, 'It's all solid, boosted by Currington's everyman appeal and easygoing delivery which serves him well...'
The Washington Post notes, 'Currington...embraces levity with ease, tossing dashes of R&B into his country choruses like a dude tossing the pigskin with his buddies at a tailgate party.'
Billboard says, ''Everything' could be music row's answer to a John Mayer album: effortlessly catchy, reasonably slow-danceable, totally harmless.'
Walmart.com notes, 'From the song selection to the vocal performances themselves, the Georgia native stretches beyond his past hits and comes up with the best album of his career.'
Arizona Daily Star adds, 'Currington wraps his sultry Georgian baritone around songs that tap dance over several styles, from blues and R&B to soul and twangy country.
Currington celebrated the release of Little Bit of Everything last Tuesday with a packed crowd at Joes Bar in Chicago. Just one night earlier, he picked up the award for Song of the Year at the ASCAP awards for his number one single 'Good Directions.'
Currington debuted in '03 with the powerful Top 10 hit 'Walk A Little Straighter', followed by the Top 5 smash 'I Got A Feelin''. He went on to duet with Shania Twain on 'Party for Two' and quickly earned notoriety, a devoted fan base and platinum sales status. Sophomore album Doin' Somethin' Right debuted at No 2 on the country charts and further delivered with the hits. 'Good Directions' and 'Must Be Doin' Somethin' Right' snagged him his first and second No 1 singles, the latter of which also won him 'Hottest Video of the Year' at the '06 CMT Music Awards. Currington has been nominated for awards from the Academy of Country Music and the Country Music Association, named to People magazine's 'Sexiest Man' list and chosen as an 'On The Verge' artist by USA Today.
