Nashville, TN. (Top 40 Charts/ Vanderbilt University Medical Center) - Multi-platinum recording artist, Clay Walker recently presented a check for $25,000 to Dr. Subramaniam Sriram, Director of the Vanderbilt University Medical Center (VUMC) Multiple Sclerosis (MS) Center. Walker, who was himself diagnosed with MS in 1996 and subsequently founded the Band Against MS (BAMS) Foundation in 2003, has demonstrated his commitment to furthering research in the field of MS over the past five years, with this latest donation bringing his total contribution to the VUMC to $75,000. 'Advancing research is important, but until we find a cure for MS, diagnosed patients should focus on getting and staying on one of the approved therapies. For me, a daily injection works best, but each patient should engage his or her neurologist to determine the treatment choice that works best for them,' said Walker . The new funds will be used to further the MS research being conducted by the center. For more information on Walker and MS, please visit www.bandagainstms.org
