NEW YORK (James taylor Official Website) - In the wake of his most recent Grammy nominations, Columbia recording artist James Taylor has announced an international tour to include concerts in Australia and Europe (see itinerary following). Taylor was recently nominated for two Grammy Awards:
Best Male Pop Vocal Performance for "October Road," the title track from his latest RIAA platinum-selling album, and Best Instrumental Arrangement Accompanying Vocalist(s) for ""Mean Old Man" (Dave Grusin, arranger), also from October Road.
Winners will be announced at the 45th Annual Grammy Awards Ceremony to be telecast on ! CBS on Feb. 23 from 8-11 p.m. (ET/PT), marking the first Grammy Awards in New York City since 1998, and the first-ever Sunday broadcast of the awards show.

When James Taylor picked up the Best Male Pop Vocal Performance trophy at the 44th Annual Grammy Awards ceremony in February 2001 (for "Don't Let Me Be Lonely Tonight," a track from Michael Brecker's Nearness Of You collection), it was the latest in a string of Grammy wins for the artist going back three decades. Taylor earned his first Grammy (Best Pop Vocal Performance, Male) in 1971 for his recording of Carole King's "You've Got A Friend." After moving to Columbia Records in 1976, Taylor claimed his second Best Pop Vocal Performance, Male Grammy in 1977 for his wry interpretation of Jimmy Jones' "Handy Man." JT, his Columbia Records debut, has since gone on to hit triple platinum. In 1998, his platinum Hourglass album snared Grammys for both "Best Pop Album" and "Best Enginee! red Album, Non-Classical". His contribution to In Harmony, a Sesame Street album, helped that album win a "Best Recording For Children" Grammy at the 1980 ceremony.

James Taylor's latest album, October Road, was certified RIAA platinum two months after its release in August and became the artist's fastest-selling album of the SoundScan era. James Taylor's singles, albums and videos have earned 42 RIAA certifications--including the coveted Diamond Award for sales in excess of 10 million copies (for James Taylor's Greatest Hits).

Columbia Music Video's recently released Pull Over, a brand-new DVD and VHS recorded live on James Taylor's 2001 concert tour, debuted at #2 on the Billboard Music Video chart. Pull Over is Taylor's first DVD release since 1998's RIAA platinum-certified Live At The Beacon Theatre, which has become one of the biggest-selling music-content DVDs.
