(Top40 Charts/ Rick DellaRatta Official Website) - On Sunday, December 7, 2008 at 12:00 PM, New York-based and internationally acclaimed jazz pianist, vocalist and composer Rick DellaRatta, will perform a special Jazz at Christmastime Concert to raise funds for the Holiday Project. The benefit will take place at Busboys and Poets located at 2021 14th Street NW in Washington, DC. This event is part of an extensive world tour for Jazz for Peace. The Holiday Project sponsors visits to residents of local hospitals, nursing homes, shelters, and long-term care facilities throughout the DC metropolitan area on holidays such as Halloween, Thanksgiving, and Christmas. According to Robin Wiley, President of The Holiday Project, 'These visits bring the spirit of a holiday to people who otherwise would not have a celebration.'

Since it began, Holiday Project volunteers have visited with over a million people confined in institutions all over the country on holidays throughout the year. The Washington Area Chapter began activities in the mid-70s and still continues to serve people in Maryland, Virginia, and Washington DC. March 2007 jazz pianist, vocalist and composer Rick DellaRatta was included by The Foundation Center in their list of musician philanthropists along with Bono (U2), Elton John, Peter Gabriel and Sting.

April 2007 Rick was given the Jazz Appreciation Award by the American Federation of Musicians (Local 85-133) for outstanding achievement as an international jazz performer, composer and philanthropist giving back to the community through jazz, jazz education, charitable contributions and Jazz for Peace performances.

September 2007 Jazz artist and Jazz for Peace founder Rick DellaRatta celebrated the 5th Anniversary of his historic concert at the United Nations which united Israelis, Palestinians and Americans as well as the 500 benefit concert 'Helping those who are helping others!' since this landmark event.

November 2007 Jazz Great Rick DellaRatta was appointed "Ambassador for Peace" by the World Peace Federation at NYC's Hammerstein Ballroom.

October 2008 Rick DellaRatta will be included in a new book called 'The Jazz Singers' as one of the top 500 Jazz Vocalists of All Time.

July 2008 US President Barack Obama Joins John McCain, Hillary Clinton, Michael Bloomberg and many others in support of Rick DellaRatta and Jazz for Peace!
