
LOS ANGELES ('Cafi Med' press release) - Carnival visits Pasadena January 24 at 8:00 P.M. when "Rio at Caf� Med" opens at Caf� Med in Pasadena, located in the Paseo Colorado, 260 East Colorado Boulevard, No. 227, in Pasadena.
The event will feature four hostesses,
* Julia Sackis, current Miss Brazil LA
* Ana Ligia, former Miss Brazil USA
* Jacqueline Caldas, former Miss Brazil LA
* Daniela Goulart, current Miss San Diego and current Miss Media Brazil USA
The night begins with a special Bossa Nova Dinner accompanied by the smooth sounds of Brazilian singer Louis Albez on vocal and guitar.
"The Girls From Rio"- four authentic Cariocas (that is, natives of Rio de Janeiro) with years of training and professional dance experience - will be on hand to perform their crowd-pleasing Carnaval Dance Show, including dancing into the crowd to form the samba circle.
Live music will be provided by Badaue (Bah-dah-WAY), a high-energy 9-piece band with a horn section, lots of percussion, and a continuously danceable beat. The charismatic lead singer, Bira, is always in motion, motivating the band, then venturing out into the crowd with his microphone to sing, dance, and interact joyously with the happily undulating audience. Badaue performs a variety of styles of Brazilian music � from Rio's carnaval samba to the many musical styles eminating from Bahia: the African influenced ax�, samba-reggae, forro, and timbalada..
"Rio at Caf� Med" will convene every Friday night at Caf� Med beginning at 8:00 P.M.
