LOS ANGELES, CA. (Top40 Charts/ Luck Media & Marketing) - Making a triumphant return to the pop scene she dominated in the early 80s, Oscar, Golden Globe and Grammy Winning 80's Film Star and Recording Icon Irene Cara (www.irenecara.com) is rising on the charts again!

'How Can I Make You Luv Me,' the first single from Irene Cara Featuring Hot Caramel, the ambitious double CD set by Cara and her new powerhouse all female band, made the leap recently into the Top 20 on FMQB's AC40 chart and is currently at No 16 (with a bullet) - just behind songs by superstar artists Maroon 5, Daughtry, Pink and Wayne Brady and ahead of Kid Rock, Nickelback, Goo Goo Dolls and Sara Bareilles.

The track is currently available for streaming and downloading at all the major online retailers, including iTunes, Rhapsody, Amazon, Best Buy, Emusic, LaLa.com and MP3.com.

The quick-building success of the track would have the makings of a great comeback story if not for one important item. While the singer, who shot to stardom with the era defining movie soundtrack hits 'Fame' (which she also starred in) and 'FlashdanceWhat A Feeling,' has been away from the U.S. pop charts since the late 80s, she's never stopped being a global recording and touring sensation.

Throughout the 90's and 2000s, she's been a concert attraction in Europe, Asia and Latin America, and she recently turned down offers in Dubai, Mexico and Portugal to focus on putting the finishing touches on the new CD. While scoring several Top Ten Dance hits on the European charts, she also brought 'Flashdance' to a new generation via her popular No 1 charting revamp (in Germany, Austria and other countries) of the song in 2001 with platinum selling Swiss singer, songwriter and producer DJ Bobo.

While her new group is gearing up to hit the road in early 2009 to promote Irene Cara featuring Hot Caramel, the group has done a handful of live performances over the past few years in spots like Germany, Norway and Italy.
