MIAMI, FL. (Top40 Charts/ ACT Productions) - ACT Productions, producer of the upcoming Seminole Hard Rock Orange Bowl Halftime Show, just announced it has signed world famous rock band The Doobie Brothers as the headlining act for the nationally televised January 1st, 2009 South Florida tradition during the 75th FedEx Orange Bowl.

The Grammy Award-winning and multi-platinum selling Doobie Brothers have brought their uniquely dynamic rock style - part rock, part jazz and part folk - to the world since 1969. This style is the reason they have sold more than 22 million records across the globe. The Doobie Brothers' hits include "Listen to the Music," "Black Water," "Jesus Is Just Alright," "Long Train Runnin'" and "China Grove." The band will be releasing a new CD in the first half of 2009 and will be touring nationally all summer long. Show dates and other details can be found on their website, www.doobiebros.com.

ACT Productions, headquartered in Miami, has been a provider of film, video, print and event services for more than 25 years. ACT has produced the FedEx Orange Bowl Halftime Show for four years running, bringing acts including Ciara, Taylor Hicks, Gladys Knight and ZZ Top to both TV and live audiences.

Famed four-time Grammy winning jazz musician Arturo Sandoval was also signed by ACT to perform the National Anthem before the game.

"The Orange Bowl Halftime Show is a legendary South Florida tradition, and this year the Doobie Brothers will keep that tradition going strong with their signature American sound," said ACT Productions president/CEO Bruce Orosz.

The Orange Bowl Committee is celebrating its 75th anniversary and through the years has played host to the brightest stars both on the field and at halftime. The 75th Orange Bowl is scheduled for Thursday, January 1 at 8:00 PM at Dolphin Stadium, 2269 NW 199 ST, Miami Gardens, FL 33056. Both the game and Seminole Hard Rock Orange Bowl Halftime Show will again be broadcast nationally by Fox Television.
