London, UK. (Top40 Charts/ White Heat) - White Heat at Madame JoJo's in Soho, London on Tuesday 6th January, 2009 includes acts Screaming Tea Party, Snowman, Ergo Proxy and the White Heat DJs.

More about the bands:

Screaming Tea Party
London based trio Screaming Tea Party create a genuinely eclectic mix of boy/girl Anglo-Japanese shout-pop, classic three-minute post-punk, new-wave groove, surf guitar and psychedelia, all performed with youthful exuberance and the falsetto backing vocals of singing drummer Nell. Guitarist Niiyan is an exceptional musician as well as visually arresting, wearing a gas-mask and often ending gigs only wearing his pants.
' at times Screaming Tea Party are like a force of nature - exactly the kind of band you'd love to be stuck in a tiny little venue on a Saturday night with' - www.clickmusic.com.
'Our latest tip for world domination' - NME.

Snowman
Icelandic Olga, Indonesian Aditya, Italian Ross and British Joe created their band in Perth, Australia, and over three albums have established themselves as bent on carving their own path. Their 2008 move to London coincided with their remarkable third album, 'The Horse, The Rat and the Swan'. Their music walks a fine line, with masterfully layered songs, countering shuddering guitar noise, amplifier feedback, and shouting with melodic backing vocals, occasional keyboard and violin, and an ocean of reverb. Influence can be detected here and there: from King Crimson to the Birthday Party and early Bad Seeds to the Atlantics to Bowie to the Pop Group, but it all adds up to a unique whole.
'A great album' - pitchforkmedia.com: review of 'The Horse, The Rat and the Swan'.

Ergo Proxy
Japanese psych-punk trio.

About White Heat
'London's infamous Art Rock Disco' was launched in 2003. Its band list is a Who's-Who of independently-minded music since the turn of the century, including: British Sea Power, Good Shoes, Test-Icicles (first London show), Foals (first show), Bloc Party, Blurt, Joe Lean and the Jing Jang Jong, The Horrors, The Klaxons, Chrome Hoof, Mystery Jets, The Kills, Liars, Lightspeed Champion and Alex Turner.

Guest DJs have included Jarvis Cocker, Steve Mackey (Cavemen, Pulp), CSS and Steve Aoki as well as hosting label nights by Rough Trade, Young Turks (XL), Young and Lost and Brille.

Constantly introducing new bands and underground cult favourites, DJs Matty & Olly keep it innovative, inventive, ever-changing and above all a hell of a lot of fun.

White Heat is living proof that independent music culture can still thrive outside the mainstream.
