NASHVILLE, TN. (Top40 Charts/ Blue Pie) - Who the hell is Adam Toms I hear you ask? And you'd be right to question this. for now. It won't take you long to click though, because he's damn good. He's originally a country boy but if you've been around the Melbourne live music scene for the last few years you've more than likely caught him singing his heart out at one of the many venues in the heart of the city. Shortly after making the move to Victoria's capital Adam teamed up with Aria award winning producer / engineer Doug Roberts - best known for his work with artists such as The Badloves, Chocolate Starfish, Boom Crash Opera, Paul Kelly, John Farnham, Mick Jagger and Chris Wilson. Doug introduced him to Peter Farnan (ex Boom Crash Opera) with a view to write some songs together which proved to be a successful collaboration. The pair wrote many songs together all of varying music styles with no intent or expectations. With a swag of new material either written by Peter and Adam or just Adam, it was decided to go into the studio to record enough tracks for an album. With Doug Roberts back in the engineer's seat a co-production between the three artists was a great combination. An an all-star cast of players was assembled for the album with Peter Farnan on guitars, back-up vocals and bass on a few tunes along with John Favaro (Badloves) on bass, Tony Floyd (Things of Stone and Wood) on drums and of-course Adam on guitar and other odds & ends. The direction for the album was 'commercial radio rock/pop' which in many ways this goal was achieved. However for Adam something was missing. Over the course of the next year Adam realised that this genre was not a perfect match. He had always had many people suggest that his music leant in a more 'country rock/pop' vibe. Over the Easter of 2008 Adam had what he calls a 'Light bulb moment'. "I was listening over my old demo's one day and realised I have a bunch of material which was never written with the intent of a country rock/pop vibe but it's all as clear as day to me now. This is what I need to be doing. It all makes sense!" Doug Roberts again was the man Adam wanted for the recording process with Tony Floyd and John Favaro again on Drums & Bass. Guitarist Tom Baeppler and Keys man Sean Bowen completed the mix with Andy Baylor adding Mandolin and Fiddle. What has been created is a great album of rock, country, blues, pop and roots. Stay tuned!!!!! Now under the wing of Blue Pie & managed by Anita Donlon of the MMF Australia, expect to hear a lot more from this awesome voice in 2009 with the label getting behind Adam all the way to the top.
