New York, NY. (Top40 Charts/ Absolute Pitch PR) - Absolute Pitch PR welcomes another Brooklyn band to their fold - multi-cultural outfit Zigmat. The band will release their debut full-length CD in the US this April, Sounds Of Machines-a pastiche of influences including soul, rock, dance, electronic, and world.

Fronted by vocalist Monica Rodriguez, with bassist Stephen Yonkin, Zigmat has already impressed audiences and critics alike with arresting live performances in several local clubs, including Mercury Lounge and Canal Room in New York City. In addition to their multi-textured performance, their shows come armed with complex visual display. SoM is Zigmat's follow-up to their American debut EP of the same name, which they independently released in July 2008. Zigmat also released a full-length Spanish version of SoM in 2008 in South America under the Brazilian label Ultra Records.

KCRW's Paul Campos said "Zigmat's music is edgy, rockin', melodic, and dreamy. It's a wonderful fusion that makes for great energy in their recordings and on stage."

Time Out NY said "Brooklyn's Zigmat plays punky songs spiked with electronics; occasionally, singer Monica Rodriguez switches to Spanish. The international flavor is part Yeah Yeah Yeahs, part Brazilian Girls."

One thing everyone has agreed on is their compassion and originality to their craft; whether it's multi-instrumentalist Rodriguez alternating between English and Spanish while singing, or a rhythmic-European-bass propulsively infecting the beat ... true music lovers have responded most positively to Zigmat.
