NEW YORK, NY. (Top40 Charts/ Atlantic Records) - Mark Burnett Records/Atlantic recording artist Ryan Star has announced details of a major U.S. tour. The acclaimed New York-based rocker will join
David Cook for the trek, kicking off February 13th at Florida
State University's Club Down Under in Tallahassee (see itinerary below) with a special hometown headline performance at The Bowery Ballroom on March 17th. The dates then continue through late April. The tour heralds the release of Star's long awaited label debut, "11:59," which arrives everywhere this summer. The album is preceded by the single, "Last
Train Home," which is impacting now at Hot AC radio outlets nationwide. The track is currently available via iTunes and all digital services, while a companion video has just completed production and is slated to premiere shortly.
In the meantime, Star's music is featured in a number of high profile promotions. "This Could Be The Year" was included in two commercials aired during last Sunday's Super Bowl festivities, including spots promoting NFL's Pro Bowl and NBC's upcoming series, "Kings." "This Could Be The Year" is streaming now on NBC.com's music page at www.nbc.com/featured_music. In addition, Star's "Brand New Day" is serving as the main theme to Fox's new series, "Lie To Me." His recent single, "Right Now," was among the songs soundtracking both The NFL Network & Nike Presents, "Total Access: Nike REWIND" and ESPN's "Red Bull: New Year No Limits."
Produced by Grammy Award-winner Matt Serletic (matchbox twenty, Collective Soul) with additional production by Howard Benson (Daughtry, My Chemical Romance), "11:59" sees Ryan Star seamlessly melding traditional rock elements with captivating rhythms and resonant narratives. Thoughtfully and meticulously created, the album highlights the Dix Hills, New York-native's stripped-bare vocal style and high-octane energy level.
Star first drew national attention as a member of the band Stage. Upon embarking on a solo career, he honed his skills performing in clubs across New York, including Joe's Pub and Rockwood Music Hall. He continued to build a fervent fan following as a MySpace Featured Artist, as well as by competing on CBS' reality series, "Rock Star: Supernova."
Ryan's stellar songwriting and natural-born showmanship have earned him acclaim from a variety of publications, including Newsday, which recently hailed "Last Train Home" for taking "the drama and vocal power Star has conjured for years and (welding) it to an undeniable rock hook." Newsday also praised "Right Now" as "a massive rock anthem signaling Star's pending arrival."
