BURBANK, CA. (Top40 Charts/ Warner Bros. Records) - Warner Bros. Records announced today that Todd Moscowitz has joined Warner Bros. Records as its Executive Vice President. Moscowitz currently serves as CEO of WMG's Independent Label Group (ILG), which includes the Asylum and East West labels. In his new role as EVP of Warner Bros. Records, Moscowitz will bring Asylum to the Warner Bros. family of labels, reporting to Warner Bros. Chairman and CEO Tom Whalley. Moscowitz will continue to serve as CEO of the remainder of ILG, reporting to John Esposito, WEA Corp.'s president and CEO.

Moscowitz will bring his years of experience to Warner Bros. Records where he will oversee the expansion of the label's urban roster. With Asylum as part of the Warner Bros. Records family of labels, Asylum's developing artists will be able to draw upon the proven marketing and promotional expertise of the Warner Bros. team. At the same time, Asylum will serve a valuable A&R and artist development resource for Warner Bros. as it increases Warner Bros.' presence in urban music.

'I'm excited about the opportunity to work even more closely with Tom and his team and to provide Asylum artists the unparalleled resources of Warner Bros. Records,' says Moscowitz. 'It's an honor to be a part of a label so deeply-rooted in the history and culture of our business.'

'Todd's success in urban music and his commitment to artist development make him the perfect partner for Warner Bros. Records,' says Whalley. 'As the music business continues to evolve, executives such as Todd, who appreciate the importance of great artists and understand the complexities of the business, will shape the future of our industry. I am thrilled that Todd will be leading the way with me at Warner Bros. Records.'

Named President of Asylum Records in 2004, Moscowitz quickly established the label as the premier destination for independent entrepreneurs looking to release their music nationally. He was integral in transforming hip-hop artists Mike Jones, Paul Wall, Bun B, D4L and Webbie into gold and platinum superstars. Prior to joining WMG, Moscowitz was GM of Def Jam Records, head of Rush Communications, and was a partner at Violator Management, where he helped guide the careers of 50 Cent and Missy Elliott, among others.
