Since 2008, the multi-talented singer has connected with fans through her MySpace community at www.myspace.com/kateontour, and partnered with University of Phoenix. While performing across the country, Kate will upload behind-the-scenes footage from life on tour, including weekly videos, photos from her performances and tour information. In addition to exclusive tour content, Kate will also personally answer questions from fans once a week via her 'Ask Kate' forum on her tour community. Her page will provide fans with an intimate look at Kate while she balances her life on the road, being a college student and pursuing her acting career. Voegele is currently earning a Bachelor of Science in Psychology degree at University of Phoenix.
'I feel very lucky to be able to follow my dream of being a touring musician while finishing my degree. University of Phoenix awards me the quality education I aspire to complete while staying focused on music,' said Kate Voegele. 'Follow my 'Lift Me UP Tour' on my MySpace community at www.myspace.com/kateontour.'
Singer-songwriter Kate Voegele is gearing up for second album, A Fine Mess (MySpace/DGC/Interscope). The album was recorded in Los Angeles with producer Mike Elizondo (Rihanna, Maroon 5, Pink) and hits stores on May 19. Among the disc's many highlights is lead single '99 Times' and 'Manhattan From The Sky,' both of which will be featured on the tour. A Fine Mess is the follow-up to her sparkling debut disc, Don't Look Away, which debuted top ten on the iTunes Album chart, Billboard's Top Independent Albums Chart and Billboard's Top Digital Albums Chart. In addition to her budding music career, Kate Voegele plays the spunky Mia on the popular teen drama, 'One Tree Hill.' The 22-year-old Cleveland native toured endlessly in support, sharing stages with Natasha Bedingfield, The Veronicas, Matt Nathanson, Cary Brothers and Ben Lee.
"Partnering with MySpace makes sense because both use innovative technology to provide access to a broad audience,' said Dr. Bill Pepicello, University of Phoenix president. "The University provides access to a quality education, both online and on campus, for over 397,700 current students. MySpace provides access to a network of people, which allows Kate to share her story about finding a way to balance a busy work schedule, personal life and school. This is something many people can relate to, even though the career path of the average student is very different from Kate's."
