New York, NY. (Top40 Charts/ Shore Fire Media) - Soul legend Booker T. is a man on the move in the weeks leading up to the release of 'Potato Hole' (Anti-/ April 21). Some highlights: -On Monday, April 20, Jones begins a 3-night residency with The Roots on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon. -His first public performance of the music from 'Potato Hole' was a huge success, with a packed show at the Variety Playhouse in Atlanta on April 1 to see Booker backed by the Drive-By Truckers. -He'll next play a set at Coachella Saturday April 18 (also with the Truckers). That same day, in conjunction with Record Store Day, Booker will sign copies of the 7" of "Warped Sister b/w "Reunion Time" at the Zia booth at Coachella. Copies of the 7" will be available at independent record stores nationwide starting the 18th. Early reviews for 'Potato Hole' have been outstanding. New York Magazine declared that it "makes you feel like you just stumbled into a cool, dark bar. Booker's Hammond B3 had never sounded cleaner and more expressive" while the LA Times notes that "The muscular back-and-forth [on opening track "Pound It Out"] serves as a statement of purpose, heralding an album as likely to feature the echoing crunch of Neil Young's lead guitar - which is heard on all but one song - as Jones' trademark trill.
