The rich heritage of New York nightlife is focused on the figure of the resident DJ: The homegrown jock that puts down roots in a single venue, bonds with its crowd, and explores the limits of a DJ set with his faithful. With DJ Boris' penchant for expansive, groove-based power-house music and his relentless approach to bring his fans the best sound and experience possible he has become one of New York's most beloved resident DJ's. Working as both a DJ and producer, Boris has become a folk hero of sorts, not only at his residency at Pacha NYC, but all over the world.
With his 4th compilation album Believe in Me out now on Star69 Records, a slew of productions and remixes for the likes of Janet Jackson, Jewel and Gloria Estefan, Boris has also been responsible for several classic dance floor anthems. Tracks like "Automatic," "Everybody Tweakin'," "Lights Go Out," and his latest release, 'The Breaks 2009' prove there is no wonder why powerhouse labels like Star 69 Records, Stereo Productions, and Nervous have not wasted any time in adding Boris to their catalogues. Now in its fourth year, the America's Best DJ program, presented by industry-leading magazine DJ Times, gives U.S.-based DJs a chance to shine just as brightly as their European contemporaries. The U.S. is the birthplace of dance music, the origin of club culture, and the biggest entertainment market in the world. Its DJs deserve a contest of their own.
