NEW YORK (Top40 Charts/ Marco Benevento Official Website) - Having just wrapped a ten city east coast tour, Marco Benevento quickly announces a new run of summer club shows and festival appearances in June and July. The Brooklyn-based pianist's upcoming dates will be highlighted by his first ever appearance at Carnegie Hall in New York City on June 20, opening with his trio by invitation of the evening's headliner Jamie Cullum.

Benevento will also play a series of rare solo piano shows, including June 11 at John Zorn's downtown New York City music performance space The Stone and two nights on the west coast opening for Surprise Me Mr. Davis in the week following his trio sets at High Sierra Music Festival on July 2 and 3. Other highlights include an opening slot with S.M.V. at The Keswick Theater in Philadelphia on June 10, a headline slot at The Museum Of Fine Arts in Boston on July 1 and festival appearances at Discover Jazz in Burlington on June 12 and New Mexico Jazz Festival in Albuquerque on July 18.

Marco Benevento is touring in support of his latest album Me Not Me, which features his interpretations of songs by My Morning Jacket, Deerhoof and Leonard Cohen among others. Joining Benevento on the ten track collection are bassist Reed Mathis and drummers Andrew Barr and Matt Chamberlain. Since its release, the album has received a wide range of accolades: Rolling Stone called it "delightful," The Washington Post wrote that Me Not Me was "an intriguing sonic mosaic" and Jambase praised it as "Benevento's finest hour to date."

In the live setting, Benevento fans get to hear him joyously explore the songs from both Me Not Me and its predecessor Invisible Baby with the juxtaposed stances of innocent child-like curiosity and subversive sound manipulation, all while remaining firmly rooted in the jazz trio tradition. New material continually finds its way into Benevento's sets as well, such as the recent debut of the Disney classic "Pink Elephants On Parade" and original tunes, "Greenpoint" and "RISD."

Upcoming Marco Benevento dates are:
May 29 / Mountain Jam / Woodstock, NY
June 10 / The Keswick Theatre / Philadelphia, PA (w/ S.M.V.)
June 11 / The Stone / New York, NY (solo)
June 12 / Discover Jazz Festival / Burlington, VT
