MADISON, TN. (Top40 Charts/ George L's Musical Products) - George L. Lewis, Madison, Tennessee, founder of George L's, passed away May 22. He was 87.

Lewis was a World War II veteran who served in the Pacific. A Marine, he survived the Pearl Harbor bombing while serving aboard the U.S.S. West Virginia. He was also part of the campaigns in Tulagi, Guadalcanal, and Bougainville, where he earned a Bronze Star.

After the war, he co-founded Sho-Bud Steel Guitar and GHS Strings.
For the last 35 years, Lewis and his family have owned and operated George L's Musical Products.

Lewis is survived by his wife, Ramona, daughters Kimberly Lewis (Charles Williams) and Leesa Lewis Gifford and grandsons Kahler and Karrington Williams.
