LOS ANGELES (Top40 Charts/ Wilco Fans Website) - Jay Bennett, a former member of the rock band Wilco, died May 24. He was 45.

Born in suburban Chicago, Bennett was playing in bands as a teenager, and later earned multiple degrees from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
Before joining Wilco, he co-founded Titanic Love Affair, which recorded three albums in the early/mid 1990s.

Bennett joined Wilco as it toured in support of its first album, A.M. A versatile musician, he and Wilco bandleader Jeff Tweedy worked together for more than seven years, including on the albums Being There, Summerteeth, and Yankee Hotel Foxtrot.
