Huntington Beach, CA. (Top40 Charts/ Sounddaddy Records) -
Simple Thoughts returns!
The acclaimed group
Simple Thoughts, winners of the Lost City Emcee contest, Semi-finalists on Live Digitals Spit-cam, Evocal
Battle Champions and
Orange county staple return to the studio and local venues to make their return.
Featuring Emcee Ponder, and Thoughtsarizen they look to be ready to storm the gates and bring a fresh vibe back to the hip-hop scene.
Currently working on music with Braille (Hiphop is Music), 2mex (Project Blowed), Omnious Words, Wackoe and Melissa B and other local favorite Syntax Vernac (Speech Impediments), the group looks poised to make a meaningful return to the thriving hip-hop scene. The new album scheduled for release in late 2009 and tentatively titled The Blood of the Non Believers is set to mark yet another notch on the rifle of sound and mindfulness for the group. Underground hip-hop at its fullest.
Production is currently being worked on with Apathy (demi-gods), Eeegac (skill street entertainment), Andy Beathead (skill street entertainment), A.D Ross (Sounddaddy Records) and many more.
After a two year hiatus, that saw the loss of their stellar DJ, Motomonk, and the legal worries of Emcee Ponder they return, ready and willing to work from the ground up to bring a little piece of their world to life both on stage and off.
The album is currently being recorded and worked on at the prestigious Sounddaddy records studio in Irvine, Ca (sounddaddy.tv), who also recently worked with Killah Priest, Crooked I, Psycho Realm and many more dwellers of the underground and mainstream Hip-Hop arena.
Simple Thoughts is a group that has been compared to everything from Atmosphere, to a mix of artists like 2pac and Eminem. Mostly the group touches on topics of the soul, spirit, life in general, and of course the all mighty hip-hop. With over 100 tracks combined to their credit and shows with artists such as Awol One, Akil (Jurassic Five), Shape Shifters, Killah Priest, Light Headed, Planet Asia and many more they bring experience and a mindfulness of the evolution of hip-hop to their music and focus on putting out a constant elevation of sounds instead of sticking to one particular style.
Currently playing regional shows and opening up for hip-hop greats, while also headlining local showcases. It seems that they are back on the comeback trail and ready to expand and bring the Orange County California and the world wide scene another flavor to blend into the melting pot that is being stirred locally.
Their last album released in 2003 entitled Simple Thoughts - EP received good reviews from the media including a 4/5 star review in Skinnie Magazine, and a 4/5 in Open Mic Magazine.
