New York, NY (Top40 Charts/ 19 Recordings/ Sony Music) - Title track "Battlefield" is the highest ranking new addition on Hot 100 radio chart this week!

19 Recordings/Sony Music artist Jordin Sparks is set to release her sophomore effort Battlefield on July 17th. Sparks is off to a great start with the album launch. This week the lead single and title-track "Battlefield" is the highest ranking new addition on the Hot 100 radio chart according to The Music Network. Sparks recently premiered "Battlefield" with a stunning live performance on American Idol, accom panied by co-writer Ryan Tedder.

"To me, the title 'Battlefield' is about strength and perseverance," Jordin explains about the album and song title. "Things can go from good to bad in an instant, it could be family, friendship or work; and my favorite line in the song is, 'you better go and get your armour,' because it's telling you to be prepared for that time so that you can overcome it."

"I think the range of songs and topics on the entire album are ultimately about strength in life, love and in staying true to yourself." On Battlefield Sparks is working with a cadre of hit-making producers and songwriters that include Dr. Luke, fellow label-mate T-Pain, Ryan Tedder, Stargate, and others. The "Battlefield" video was directed by Philip Andelman and recently wrapped shooting in California.

Post-Idol, Jordin's star has continued to rise; she's received rave album and concert reviews and has established herself as an accomplished, popular singer in her own right. The 19-year-old's self-titled 2007 album spawned three hit singles in Australia including "Tattoo," (Top 5 platinum single) the Grammy-nominated "No Air" (No 1 triple platinum single) and "One Step At A Time" (Top 15 gold single). Jordin won over many fans in Australia visiting the country twice in 2008, including supporting Alicia Keys on her national tour.

Jordin Sparks along with Honor Society are confirmed special guests on the North American leg of the 52-date "The Jonas Brothers World Tour 2009" which kicks off in Dallas on June 20th.
