LOS ANGELES (Top40 Charts) - King of Pop Michael Jackson died Thursday at a Los Angeles hospital where he was rushed around 1 p.m. PT by paramedics, according to celebrity Web site TMZ.

Jackson had reportedly suffered cardiac arrest just after 12:00 pm (1900 GMT) local time and paramedics were unable to revive him.
The Los Angeles Times reported that the pop legend was rushed to the hospital by the Los Angeles Fire Department. According to the Times, Jackson was not breathing when paramedics arrived and they performed CPR on him in the ambulance.

Jackson's manager Tohme E. Tohme was not immediately available for comments. Officials at UCLA Medical Center where Jackson was treated also could not be reached for comment. The news comes just weeks ahead of the 50-year-old singer's attempted comeback which was to have involved an extensive global tour. He has had a history of health problems in recent years and has not finished a concert tour in more than ten years.

Michael is survived by three children: Michael Joseph Jackson, Jr., Paris Michael Katherine Jackson and Prince "Blanket" Michael Jackson II.
