New York (Top40 Charts/ Shore Fire Media) - After raves from NPR, Associated Press, Spin and Paste for her new album 'Artificial Fire,' Los Angeles native Eleni Mandell is going back on the road, kicking off a summer tour at the Marquee in Tulsa, Oklahoma on July 17.
With the release of 'Artificial Fire,' critics mention Mandell in the same breath as Blondie, Elvis Costello, PJ Harvey, Chrissie Hynde, Joni Mitchell, Talking Heads and Television. Spin Magazine says Mandell "possesses an uncanny knack for sweetly sinister, heartsick vignettes," while Rolling Stone hears 'echoes of Elvis Costello.' 'Artificial Fire' was exalted in a major Los Angeles Times piece and featured on NPR's Morning Edition with host Renee Montagne discussing Mandell's inspiration behind the music that Paste Magazine critic Andy Whitman says 'comes fairly close to defining my notion of perfect music.'

Released in February on Zedtone Records, 'Artificial Fire' is a 15-song collection that finds Mandell's sharp-edged tales of romance, lust and love bouncing from the jagged rock of the title track to the dreamy '60's-esque pop of "Personal."
Her new song, 'Forget Me,' is featured in the film "I Love You Beth Cooper", which stars Hayden Panettiere and opens July 10.
