LOS ANGELES (Top40 Charts/ El Vuh Official Website) - 'Lyrical medicine men' 'El Vuh' set to perform a benefit concert for The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) appropriately titled 'Lyrical Medicine' on Saturday July 18, 2009 at American Legion Hall located at 7550 Eastern Ave in Bell Gardens, CA 90201. Coined 'lyrical medicine men' by those touched by their music, Zero, Victor-E and E-Rise began their musical careers in 2002 as Los Angeles-based visionaries together for a common cause: music with an ancestral message. Using their songs as a vehicle for expressing personal views on today's environmental, socioeconomic and political climates, El Vuh ('The Book') spreads a message of love and hope regarding the popular Dec. 21st, 2012 Mayan prophecy, feared by some to be the end of the world. To El Vuh, this date is 'just the start of a new cycle said to bring forth a new world view'. Basing their lyrics on the philosophy of their native Aztec and Mayan ancestry, the trio reminds its listeners that 'not only are we all part of the circle of life, but we also have a responsibility to that circle'. Lyrical Medicine is an event that combines some of the most up and coming music artists in Southern California with one of its prominent and well-established artists "El Vuh" to raise money for the Leukemia-Lymphoma Society. The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) is a national voluntary health agency dedicated to curing leukemia, lymphoma and myeloma, and to improving the quality of life of patients and their families. LLS was established in 1949 as The de Villiers Foundation. In 2000, LLS changed its name from The Leukemia Society of America to The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society to emphasize its commitment to fighting all blood cancers.
