
Kula, HI (Top40 Charts/ Ebb & Flow Arts) - From July 25 - August 1, 2009, Ebb & Flow Arts will present Summer
Music Hawai'i - a series of five events comprising modern and classical chamber music plus multi media events. One event will occur in Honolulu.
"Ebb & Flow Arts is the only arts presenter in Hawai'i, to receive an award in 2009, from National Endowment for the Arts in the Challenge America category," says E&FA founder and director, Robert Pollock. "This grant enables us to bring leading performers from San Francisco Symphony Orchestra, the Tilden Trio, to Hawai'i," he adds. On July 25, Tilden Trio will premiere Sarn Oliver's new trio at Doris Duke Theater, Honolulu. E&FA commissioned this work as a result of a grant from Argosy Foundation Contemporary Music Fund (Milwaukee).

* Saturday, August 1, 7:30pm, Seabury Hall performing arts studio, Grand Finale, Paul Carroll, solo percussion. Works by Pollock, Xenakis, Osborne, Bendian, Mariko Smiley and Sarn Oliver, duo violinists from the San Francisco Symphony, works by Prokofiev, Wieniawski and Berio. The program will also include Ebb & Flow's signature multi media experiments with audience participation. Featured artists will be Martha Woodbury (Kula) and Gabriel Mott (Haiku). Musicians include Paul Marchetti, percussion, John Zangrando, woodwinds, Bob Harrison, bass, and Robert Pollock, piano.
These events are part of E&FA's annual, multi day, multi site, international North South East West Festival. Ebb & Flow Arts, Inc. (E&FA) is a non profit presenter of modern music and multi media events. It is the only such presenter in Hawai'i, and was founded in 1999, by composer/pianist Robert Pollock. It aims to break down the barriers between the arts and form a bridge between artistic expressions and cultures. E&FA creates a global sound board and mirror for music and art in Hawai'i.
