NEW YORK (Linkin Park Official Website) - Chester Bennington's lower back and abdomen pain is more than a bad stomachache. The Linkin Park frontman has been in an L.A. hospital since May 30th where doctors are trying to find the source of the problem.

A spokesperson for the band's record label says they've narrowed it down to a parasite or an intestinal disorder. Fellow Linkin Park member Mike Shinoda told an L.A. radio station Chester will require surgery.

Shinoda urged fans to send messages to Bennington through www.linkinpark.com instead of trying to contact him directly. Mike reminded fans that Chester is still a human being who needs his privacy.
