LONDON, UK (David Bowie Official Website) - David Bowie is to embark on his first major world tour in almost a decade. David Bowie will play to more than a million people in 17 countries during a seven-month series of concerts.

The Reality tour - named after his forthcoming album - will start in Europe in October before moving on to North America, Australia and the Far East.
Details of European shows, including three dates in the UK and one in Ireland, were announced on Monday. It will be his first major tour since the hugely successful Outside World tour of 1995.

In recent years he has concentrated on more intimate one-off live events in Europe, including a small number of shows in 2002. "Last year's shows were such a tremendous high and the audiences so responsive," Bowie said.
"My band is playing at the top of its form right now and it would be foolish not to play a tour this year while we're in such good spirits about the live show aspects of our work."

David Bowie will play:
- the MEN Arena, Manchester, on 17 November
- Birmingham NEC on 19 November
- The Point, Dublin, on 22 November and
- London Wembley Arena on 25 November.
Tickets for the shows go on sale on 20 June. Other shows have been announced in Copenhagen, Stockholm, Helsinki, Oslo, Rotterdam and Milan.
