NEW YORK (Top40 Charts/ Yep Roc Records) - On September 18, Irish sensations Bell X1 will return to the US for a month of dates following their extensive European tour, which included a date opening for U2 at the 83,000-capacity Croke Park in Dublin. The band will be touring in support of their critically acclaimed new album 'Blue Lights On The Runway' (Yep Roc).

In other news, the "vibrant [and] vigorous" (USA Today) first single "The Great Defector" is enjoying great success at radio. For the past eight months the song has been climbing the AAA charts peaking recently at No 8. Disc jockeys across the country have been hailing the track. Leslie Fram at New York's WXRP called it a "song that truly breaks through," Bruce Warren at Philadelphia's WXPN said the song "leaps out of the dial" and Jody Denberg at Austin's KGSR proclaimed "'The Great Defector' is lighting it up!"

'Blue Lights on the Runway' debuted at No 1 in Ireland and Bell X1 performed on the Late Show with David Letterman (CBS) on March 17.
