John Fogerty - one of American's most compelling singers and songwriters; GRAMMY Award winner; and Rock & Roll Hall of Famer as leader of the seminal band Creedence Clearwater Revival - will perform a free outdoor concert at New York's historic South Street Seaport on September 2 at 7pm. The performance marks Fogerty's live debut of the classic American songbook featured on the new album 'The Blue Ridge Rangers Rides Again' (August 31 / Fortunate Son / Verve Forecast). The band is made up of first-call musicians: Kenny Aronoff (drums), Billy Burnette (guitar), Jason Mowery (fiddle/mandolin), Matt Nolen (keyboards/guitar), Hunter Perrin (guitar), David Santos (bass), James Pennebaker (pedal steel).

Fogerty will also perform on the Late Show with David Letterman (CBS) on September 3 and on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon (NBC) on September 8.

Reviews from Fogerty's 2009 Canadian tour were rapturous. The Montreal Gazette called the show "hot, sweaty, loud and joyous... off-the-energy-scale." The Ottawa Citzen attested, "Fogerty was a lean, mean machine. [He] played with such power and intensity." Winnipeg Free Press called the show a "knockout," continuing, "It was a straight shot of 'hell yeah.'" The Edmonton Sun said, "Fogerty was in absolutely top form last night."

With the release of 'The Blue Ridge Rangers Rides Again,' Fogerty joyfully resurrects his mythical group. After Creedence Clearwater Revival broke up in 1972, Fogerty released his first solo album under the name The Blue Ridge Rangers. He played all the instruments on this album of gospel and country covers, which earned critical accolades and produced two Top 40 hits:
"Jambalaya" and "Hearts of Stone."
