Coming to the Crescent City for one week only in August, will be the music of Los Hombres Calientes. Presented by Irvin Mayfield, the concert series is entitled 'The Love Sessions' - Six Nights of
Music and Six Nights of Giving.
Beginning Tuesday evening August 25 through Sunday night August 30, the Big Easy will sizzle with the explosive sounds of the multi-talented bandleader and jazz trumpeter, Irvin Mayfield. The music of Los Hombres Calientes merges Caribbean and African rhythms with an authentic jazz beat.
This special 'benefit concert' series is Irvin Mayfield's 'love offering' to his hometown of New Orleans. 'During these tough economic times and in remembrance of Hurricane Katrina, it is important to recognize, support, and provide love offerings to groups that our strengthening our community,' explains Mayfield.
Each one of the six concerts will benefit a different non-profit and funds raised will support groups that mentor our children, the homeless, literacy programs, our police, mental health and our local musicians. The 'Love Sessions' are proudly sponsored by: Entergy, Gambit Weekly, Tommy Bahama Rum, Jones Walker, Basin Street Records, Adams and Reese LLP, and the Royal Sonesta Hotel New Orleans. All concerts will be presented in the luxurious and intimate setting of Irvin Mayfield's Jazz Playhouse at the Royal Sonesta Hotel, 300 Bourbon Street, located in the heart of the French Quarter.
