Nashville, TN (Top40 Charts/ Lotos Nile Media) - On August 16, 1977, Elvis Presley, the undisputed King of Rock and Roll, passed away at Graceland, his beloved home in Memphis, Tenn. In the years following his untimely death, Elvis' fame has expanded beyond the scope of most musicians and celebrities dead or alive. Thirty-two years later and on the anniversary of his death, the new documentary Love Me Tender - The Love Songs of Elvis reminds us why we fell in love with the King in the first place.
Narrated by Ashley Judd, Love Me Tender - The Love Songs of Elvis explores the love songs that have enraptured listeners since Elvis first arrived on the music scene. Beginning with "I Want You I Need You I Love You" in 1956 and running the entire span of his life, it was the tender side of the King that endeared him to his fans, particularly to his legions of female fans. Elvis' impact on the women of the world has never been truly measured or calculated, but the anecdotal evidence of his effect on women music fans around the world is undeniable.
The Love Me Tender - The Love Songs of Elvis DVD contains more than 20 special performances plus an additional 30 minutes of bonus features, interviews and never-before seen footage. Fans have the option of ordering a Special Elvis Fan Pack, which includes the DVD and a special edition CD of music from the documentary, or they can order the DVD and CD separately. Love Me Tender - The Love Songs of Elvis is available at the shops at Graceland and can currently be pre-ordered at ElvisLoveSongs.com.
Love Me Tender was produced by Coming Home Television Productions in conjunction with Elvis Presley Enterprises - the same people who brought public television viewers He Touched Me: The Gospel Music of Elvis Presley and ELVIS LIVES: The 25th Anniversary Concert. It was produced and directed by Michael Merriman. Executive producers are Barry Jennings and Bill Carter.
