New York (Top40 Charts/ Shore Fire Media) - Bob Schneider's imagination runs wild throughout his forthcoming album 'Lovely Creatures' (September 29, Kirtland Records), as does his flair for spinning stories of the hopelessly romantic. Inspired by old Hollywood musicals, Schneider shows his cinematic eye on the new song "Trash," a playfully cynical lament befitting any top-hat-donning, tap-shoe-wearing, cane-twirling movie star. Listen here: https://www.rainmakerartists.com/bobschneider/trash.mp3 "This song is about me pretending to be Gene Kelly in a musical or Dick Van Dyke, maybe," explains Schneider. "Either one works in my imagination. I'm really in love, but it's unrequited and I'm very unhappy about it, but it's a musical so even though I'm sad, I'm dancing and singing," he adds, embracing the charming absurdity of musical theater, "but wow...look at that dancing. He really can move. He's fantastic." But don't let his imagined dance moves distract you from the subtlety of Schneider's lyrics. The narrator in "Trash" thinks about as much of himself and love as he does of his garbage can companions: "Here I am walking down your street again/ Like a scene in a movie/ Just me and the garbage cans/ Clicking my shoes on the ground/ Just like an aristocrat." In the end, without the studio back-lot and tails, things become more clear: "It's all make believe/ It's all smoke and ash/ Yesterday's gold/ It's not made to last/ It's trash/" Schneider himself, however, has more longevity than the fleeting romance described in "Trash." Already "beloved, acclaimed, and revered" (Dallas Morning News, 8.7.09) in his home state of Texas, Schneider exhibits vivid imagery and catchy pop-rock melodies throughout 'Lovely Creatures' (Kirtland Records), including the record's single "40 Dogs (Like Romeo and Juliet)" debuting at Triple A Radio next week.
