LOS ANGELES (RHCP Official Website) - Red Hot Chili Peppers have scheduled the third leg of a tour in support of their latest album, By The Way. It will begin September 6 in Washington, DC and run through September 25 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Opening for the Peppers once again is Queens Of The Stone Age and the band French Toast.

Red Hot Chili Peppers recently wrapped up the second leg of their tour and are headed to the studio this summer to record tracks for an upcoming greatest hits album. Anthony Kiedis said that he doesn't mind taking long breaks between tour legs. "You know, we still like playing live, so we're going to do that as long as we can," Kiedis says. "But yeah, we decide for how long we want to go away and it works out better that way because when you're playing the same bunch of 20 songs or so every night on tour, you start to lose your creative impulse. So it's good to give it a rest and come home and write new stuff, and go like that."
