New York, NY (Top40 Charts/ Universal Republic Records) - Cash Money/Universal Republic UK singer Jay Sean has had no problem getting 'Down' with U.S. music fans, soaring to the top of the Single charts this week, conquering multiple platforms and achieving Platinum-single status at a whirlwind-pace with his debut hit 'Down,' (featuring Cash Money Icon Lil Wayne. ) 'Down's' astounding trajectory is topped off by his No 1 arrival at the top of the Rhythm Crossover Radio Chart. Jay Sean's U.S. debut album, All Or Nothing, will hit stores and digital/mobile destinations on November 24th.
For Cash Money, the scorching R&B crossover smash has industry-watchers like DJBooth.net anointing the pioneering hip hop brand as a 'multi-genre behemoth.' Critics have also noted that the seamless pairing with Universal Republic Records is a sequel, of sorts, to the dual-power move that fueled the arrival of newcomer, Kevin Rudolf, ('Let It Rock f/Lil Wayne) who detonated the charts after being assigned the Cash Money/Universal Republic banner in 2008.

Jay Sean's meteoric rise is made all the more impressive as he simultaneously breaks through the radio, video, and digital landscapes, leaping multiple genres and formats as one of this year's fastest rising debuts. The platinum 'Down' crossed the 1 million digital singles threshold in only 2 months of release. The riveting single has held a Top 5 Lockdown on the coveted iTunes chart since the second day of its digital launch at the end of June. It currently reigns at No 2 on the Billboard Hot 100 Singles chart, potentially poised to overtake the top spot next week as it also holds down radio's other coveted metric as Greatest Gainer for four weeks running.

The sleek video, directed by Richard Pengelley (and also featuring Lil Wayne,) has snagged close to 12 million views on youtube, quickly becoming an MTV, MTV Hits, and VH1 staple, rapidly moving up on the trademark video outlet's Top 20 Countdown. 'Jay Sean brings a whole new dimension to the Cash Money roster,' reported VH1.com, touting the R&B singer's previous independent success as a U.K. hitmaker by way of Punjab, India. With two internationally acclaimed albums under his belt, a mantle-full of awards and several Top Ten hits in the UK and other countries, Universal Republic welcomes Jay Sean's perfectly-timed introduction to U.S. fans. 'Jay Sean is a charismatic artist with a global reach,' stated Joel Klaiman, Executive Vice President of Promotion and Artist Development for Universal Republic. 'We're thrilled to be creating new avenues of exposure for Cash Money artists as they continue to expand their playing field. Together, we're ensuring Jay Sean's music connects with the maximum audience it deserves. I also want to congratulate our hard working promotion staff, who leave no stone unturned in their commitment to break unique music and garner invaluable exposure for our artists."

Ronald 'Slim' Williams, Co-founder and Co-CEO of Cash Money also commented: 'Jay Sean's power comes from the same spirit of independence we've always rolled with at Cash Money. Universal Republic understands our vision and flows with innovative strategies to develop out-of-the-box artists that carry our signature. We're eager to build on Jay Sean's success with even more surprises yet to come.'

Jay Sean is putting the finishing touches on his U.S. debut album, All Or Nothing, due out in late November. Guest's on the upcoming album include Lil Wayne, Nadine Coyle, Kiesha, and Kevin Rudolf, himself, among others. Jay Sean also appears on Cash Money co-founder/CEO Bryan 'Birdman' Williams' (and brother of 'Slim') new single, 'Written On Her,' which entered the Top 20 of the radio charts this week. Jay Sean is also having tremendous success around the globe with 'Down,' hitting No 2 in New Zealand, as well as climbing toward the top of the charts in Canada and Sweden, among other territories. A much anticipated promotional tour for Jay Sean is scheduled to kick off on the last week of October.
